The Hussaini Encyclopedia

The Hussaini Encyclopaedia Works on the theme of Imam Al-Hussain (PBUH) as a person, biography, thoughts and way of conduct, as well as on the social circle of personalities around him and places, chronicles and various other related subjects. It penetrates the barriers of time, place, language and identity in searching and conveying pieces of information related to Al-Hussain and his Cause. Each volume is followed by some selected verses of the Quran and by Hadiths relating to Al-Hussain’s Cause. Each section has an introduction and conclusion, and each volumes ends with a concise summary of topics from that volume..

Imam Hussain ibn Ali (peace be upon him)
Imam Hussain was the Third Holy Imam; he was son of the First Holy Imam Ali, and Grandson of the Prophet Mohammed. Imam Hussain was know as the Martyr of Martyrs, this is due to his slaughter on Friday, 10th Muharram, 61 A.H., in the Holy City of Kerbela, Iraq, at the age of 57 years old. He was massacred along with some of his family members by the army of Yazid ibn Mu’awiya, but through this mass slaughter the faith of Islam was rescued. Yazid’s attempt to disrupt Imam Hussain’s Cause due to him refusing to pledge allegiance to him actually had a counter effect and increased the following of Islam
